Whatís included on a Gap Jobs placement:
- All pre-departure support and advice, including 2 detailed information packs
- Telephone support for you, your family and friends
- Airport pick-up on the agreed placement start date
- Orientation and training on arrival, to help you adjust to your new surroundings
- A guaranteed placement for the duration of your time with us
- Dedicated and well-trained crew to give you support on and off the placement site
- 24 hour emergency contact with Mad HQ for you and your family
- Post- project support including references and help to build your experiences into your C.V
Whatís not included (but we are happy to advise on):
- Flights
- Insurance. It is a prerequisite that you have comprehensive insurance to cover all eventualities
- Visas. Our staff can advise you on visa requirements for your selected destination and we provide all the essential paperwork
- Vaccinations
- Personal kit and spending money
Mad to Timbuktu - What's Included
The adventure cost covers the following:
- All transport
- 24 Hr support from crew leader and Mad HQ
- 7 nights Timbuktu package including:
- Camel riding in Sahara
- Guided tour of Djenne
- Boat trip on River Niger
- Guided tour of Timbuktu
- Guided Trek through Dogon country
The Kitty is £190, and you should bring it with you in Euros cash, for ease of changing into CFa, the currency required in French-speaking West Africa where you will be travelling.
The kitty covers the following:
- All park entrance fees
- Meals
- 14 nights accommodation (the other 7 nights are included in fee paid)
- Water
- Guided Game Walk at Mole National Park
- Visit to Mosque in Bobo-Dioussolo
- Visit to Mosque/Museum in Timbuktu

Mad Andes Adventure - What's Included
The adventure cost covers the following:
- The 4 day Inca Trail
- Flights over the Nazca Lines
- All transport
- All accommodation
- 24 Hr support from crew leader and Mad HQ
The Kitty is 390 US Dollars, and you should bring it with you in US Dollars Cash, for ease of changing into PEN, the currency required in Spanish-speaking Peru where you will be travelling.
The kitty covers the following:
- Meals
- Lake Trip and 1 night Family Stay on Lake Titicaca
- Sandboarding in Huacachina
- Boat Trip to Islas Ballestas, Pisco
- 4 Day Santa Cruz Trek, Huaraz
The kitty does not cover soft/alcoholic drinks, snacks and any activities other than those stated in itinerary.

The Mad Foundation
Gap Jobs supports the Mad Foundation, which contributes to a variety of educational and health care initiatives, such as providing educational scholarships for children overseas. Everyone at Gap Jobs HQ is also encouraged to give 10% of their office time to help organise events that promote the Mad Foundation. As much money as possible is spent within the local economy on accommodation, employing cooks and drivers, using local transport and buying local food.
Madventure Travel Ltd pays all administrative costs of the Foundation, including office space and the salary of a full-time fundraiser to increase the amount of funds available to projects overseas. By doing this, we ensure every pound that goes into the Foundation is put to good use on development projects, rather than being absorbed into running costs. We also encourage all of our staff to ‘do their bit’ by giving them 10% of their paid office time to help organise events that promote the Mad Foundation and other causes.
