Health, Care & Medicine in Kenya
Orphanages & Carework in Kenya

Probably the region's most popular tourist destination, Kenya is a land of exceptional natural beauty. A country where you can see traditionally dressed Maasai and their herds traversing the expanse of rolling savannah, visit world famous national parks and lounge on golden beaches.

Madventurer’s Gap Jobs placements are based in the large town of Naivsaha, in the stunning Great Rift Valley (part of the fault system running between Jordan and Mozambique.) A popular point of call for backpackers and tourists, who come to see the famous freshwater lake, this town has all the facilities you will need during your placement, including internet access, post office and grocery stores. There are some good bars and restaurants here for relaxing on an evening, after the hard work of the placement is done.

Naivasha is a great base for exploring the Rift Valley. Hells Gate National Park is within easy reach for the weekends, where you can do walking and cycling safaris. Lake Nakuru is also nearby, home to a famous array of birdlife, including pink flamingoes. For the longer weekend break, you can visit the incredible Maasai Mara and do some game drives, or for the more energetic Mount Kenya is on hand too!

Maasai Mara, one of Africaís best game parks, presents the breathtaking picture of Africa, great plains dotted with acacia trees, giraffes roaming in the distance, herds of zebra, gazelle, buffalo and wildebeest, lions lazing in the sun, and the tall elegant Maasai grazing their cows. July and August is the time when wildebeest, in their hundreds of thousands, begin a long streaming journey north from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara, which, if we are lucky enough to witness this migration, youíll be taking part in one of natureís most awe inspiring experiences.

Thereís time to hit the dance floor in Simbas next door until the early hours of the morning before heading to the Indian Ocean to Tiwi Beach, a quiet palm fringed beach with long stretches of golden sands, an off shore coral reef. Here you can relax to the sound of lapping waves, snorkel among the tropical fish, and feast on seafood, your last days by the coast are the chance to relax and enjoy and digest your time in Africa!

Climbing Mt.Kenya
This four-day mountain trek takes you to the top of Mount Kenya's third highest peak, Point Lenana. It is the highest peak that you can reach without having to do any technical climbing, yet still stands at a lofty 16,800ft above sea level.
