A land of extreme contrast with arid deserts and immense tropical forests bisected by the jagged spine of the Andes on its journey from Venezuela to the Southern tip of Chile.

Peru has become an extremely popular destination for tourists who flock to the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, the highest lake in the world, Lake Titicaca, the colonial splendour of Arequipa and the tropical rainforest and cloud forests of the Amazon.

Gap Jobs Peru is based in the stunning city of Cuzco, UNESCO World Heritage site and centre of the ancient Inca Empire (ìCuzcoî being the Qíechua word for navel).

Peruvian Life
Peru is a fascinating mix of culture, urban and rural lifestyles. The pre-colonial heritage of the Incas is still very much in evidence and its combination with the European Hispanic influence produces a vivid, vibrant and vivacious society that teems with life and tradition. From the hectic cities to the relaxed community driven, indigenous countryside, there is vast diversity across the whole nation.

What Makes Peru special?
Peru is one of the few countries in the world to incorporate all the major geographical extremes. From towering 6000 m+ snow-capped mountains in the Andes, to the vast lush expanse of the Amazon to a long and varied coastline it contains scenery for every enthusiast. Combine this with a rich Inca and Hispanic heritage and you have a country that pulses with culture and vitality.
